KKR vs DD: Delhi Daredevils thrash Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets 

 KOLKATA: Irfan Pathan scored a fast 42 to guide Daredevils to a eight-wicket win over KKR in a rain affected 12-overs-a-side IPL 5 match on Thursday Spril 5th 2012.

Irfan struck three sixes and two boundaries to help Delhi make a winning start to their IPL 5 campaign.

In Kolkata batting innings,Morne Morkel scalped three wickets for 18 runs, while  Yadav and  van der Merwe got 2  wickets a piece to restrict the kkr to 97/9 .

Chasing the small total, Aaron Finch and Virender Sehwag (20 off 13) gave the Felhi Daredevils  a nice start.They made 49 for first wicket.

But two quick wickets, after Kallis gave the breakthrough in the form of Finch, brought the crowd back on its feet with the match tentalisingly poised as Daredevils needed 41 runs off 28 balls to win.

But Irfan and Glenn Maxwell just bashed the kkr bowlers and won the match for delhi..

Laxmi Ratan Shukla top-scored for the Kolkata Knight Riders with a 17-ball 26, with two sixes and a single boundry. he helped kolkata from 54/6 to a respectable total.

Congrats to delhi daredevils for their first win in first match.I hope that kolkata knight rider alias kkr will do a better job with bat in coming matches. the match was exciting and thats what ipl is made for.
